What can an Account Admin do compared to the Account Owner?
Account Administrators can do almost everything, except a few owner-only settings.

Every account has one Account Owner. You can give the Account Administrator Role to as many people as you like, so more than one person can manage your account. Account Admins can do almost everything the Account Owner can. A few company settings belong only to the Account Owner.

📌 In the users tab, the Account Owner and Account Admins all show Account Administrator in the Role column. The Account Owner is the one with the crown icon next to their name.

What Both Roles Can Do

The Account Owner and every Account Admin can:

  • Use every module in Safari Portal.
  • Manage billing and your subscription.
  • Add, edit, and remove users.
  • Give users a Role, including the Account Administrator Role.
  • Require two-factor authentication (2FA) for all users.
  • Reset 2FA for other users.

What Only The Account Owner Can Do

  • Transfer ownership of the account to someone else.
  • Edit company information, like your Company Name, address, and Brand Color.
  • Change your Company Assets, like your logo and favicon.
  • Publish your Privacy Policy.
  • Set up Customized Link Sharing (your custom domain).
  • Set up Google Tag Manager (GTM).
  • Edit, deactivate, or remove the Account Owner, or reset their 2FA. An Account Admin can't do any of these for the Account Owner.

The Users Tab

The Users tab is where you manage everyone on your account. Only the Account Owner and Account Admins can see this tab. It lists each user with their Role, whether 2FA is turned on, and their Status. The Account Owner is the one with the crown icon next to their name.

From the Users tab, you can:

  • Click Add User to invite someone new.
  • Click a Role above the list, like Account Administrator or Manager, to see only the users with that Role.
  • Change a user's Role from the dropdown in the Role column.
  • Click the pencil icon to edit a user's permissions.
  • Turn off the toggle to deactivate a user.
  • Click the trash icon to delete a user.
  • Open the Roles tab to create and edit Roles.
  • Turn on Require two-factor authentication for all users.

To open the Users tab:

  1. Click the profile icon in the top right corner of Safari Portal.
  2. Select Settings from the dropdown.
  3. Click the Users tab.

Tips & Tricks 💥

  • Only the Account Owner sees the Transfer Account Owner section on the Users tab. Learn how to change the person in charge of your company's account.
  • The Account Owner's Role can't be changed. It's always Account Administrator.
  • The Account Administrator Role can't be edited or deleted like other roles, such as the Manager role.
