You can collect credit card authorizations from your clients in order to securely store their card details and use them to make payments on their behalf for travel products and services.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Navigate to the Contacts module from your Dashboard.
- Open the profile of the traveler whose card details you want to collect.
- Navigate the Credit Cards tab within their contact profile.
- Scroll to Settings.
- Check the box to Ask for billing address and phone number.
- Request to keep card on file for up to 12 months. Otherwise, it will be stored for 60 days only.
- Optionally, request an e-signature.
- When enabled, guest must sign and verify email before completing credit card authorization.
- Select Authorization Type and choose between:
- General Authorization – for open-ended use.
- Fixed Amount Authorization – recommended. This allows you to specify an amount for record-keeping purposes (note: it does not limit how much can be charged on the card; it simply displays the authorized amount on the form).
- Review and edit the Terms and Conditions as needed.
- Click Generate Link.
Generate and Share the Link
- Click Generate Link
- You can send the credit card authorization via email or copy the link.
- You’ll see a saved authorization appear below, marked as Not Submitted.
- Click the eye icon to preview the link and copy it again, if needed.
- You can delete the link, as long as they haven’t input their card details yet.

📌 Note: Once you generate the link, it will be active for 96 hours.

Client Submission & Tracking
- Once your client submits the form:
- The tag will update to Submitted and you’ll see:
- Submission date
- IP address and city of submission
- Authorized amount (if applicable)
- Expiry date for viewing card details
- You’ll receive an email notification with the subject New credit card authorization from followed by the client’s name.
⚠️Card details are only visible for 60 days unless you choose the option to keep on file for 12 months.


Accessing Stored Card Information
- Click Show Credit Card.
- Enter your password for secure access.
⚠️ Important: The Account Admin can choose what credit card information each user can view. Settings can be updated by an account admin.

Security and Compliance
- All credit card data is stored in PCI Vault, a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant vault.
- Safari Portal does not store card data directly.
- PCI Vault uses secure encryption and tokenization to protect all sensitive information.
- Card details are visible only for 60 days after submission, solely to the advisor who created the link.
📌 Note: By submitting their card information, clients agree to PCI Vault’s Terms of Service and release Safari Portal of any liability beyond compliance with those terms.
