Displaying flights in Travel Dashboards for Classic Builder Itineraries
Learn how to display flight information on your Travel Dashboard for a Classic Builder Itinerary.

Travel Dashboards pull flight information directly from an Itinerary. This works seamlessly with Calendar Builder Itineraries, where flights can be added and managed at the itinerary level.

Classic Builder Itineraries work a little differently. At this time, Classic Builder does not support adding flights directly at the itinerary level. While Classic Builder Guest Portals include a dedicated Flights tab where flights can be entered manually, Travel Dashboards instead use Flights cards, which pull flight information directly from an Itinerary and display it in a list view within the dashboard.

If you're using a Classic Builder Itinerary and would like to display flight information within a Travel Dashboard, the recommended workaround is to create a separate Calendar Builder Itinerary containing only the flight details, and then add that itinerary to your Travel Dashboard alongside your Classic Builder Itinerary.

This allows your travelers to access their flight information directly within the Travel Dashboard while still benefiting from the flexibility and design of Classic Builder for the rest of their trip.

Here's how to display a list of flights in a Travel Dashboard when using a Classic Builder Itinerary:

Step 1: Create a Flights Itinerary Template

  1. Navigate to the Templates module.
  2. Create a new Calendar Builder Itinerary Template.
  3. Set the proposal title to Flights (or a similar name).
  4. Leave the Details tab blank.
  5. Leave the Costs tab blank.
  6. Save the Itinerary as a template.
  7. Create a new Calendar Builder Itinerary in the same File as the Classic Builder Itinerary.

Step 2: Create a Flights-Only Itinerary

  1. Create a new Itinerary using your Your Flights template.
  2. Add the Itinerary to the same File that contains your Classic Builder Itinerary.
  3. Add only the flight information to this Itinerary.

Step 3: Add the Flights Card to Your Travel Dashboard

  1. Open your Travel Dashboard.
  2. Add a Flights Card.
  3. When prompted, select the flights-only Itinerary you created in Step 2.
  4. The Flights Card will automatically pull the flight information from that Itinerary and display it on the dashboard.

Your clients will now be able to view their flight information directly within the Travel Dashboard.

If you need to make changes later, you can easily edit the flights-only Itinerary from within the Travel Dashboard and the Flights Card will automatically reflect those updates.
