Offer travel insurance directly within Safari Portal and earn commission on every policy sold.
Safari Portal's Travel Insurance integration with Redpoint Travel Protection allows you to offer instant travel insurance quotes to your clients without leaving the platform.
Travelers can generate their own quote from any Travel Dashboard, Itinerary, Lookbook, or Guest Portal, or you can also generate quotes on their behalf.
This makes it easy to offer insurance consistently throughout the client journey while reducing administrative back-and-forth.
Key Benefits
- Integrated with a custom Redpoint plan built exclusively for the Safari Portal community:
- Covers both USโ and nonโUS residents.
- Typical market rate for similar cover: ~11.5% of trip cost.
- Your plan: 6.5% of trip cost, and ageโagnostic (same rate whether guests are 30 or 70).
- Guests can generate an instant quote with literally a couple of clicks, or you can generate one on their behalf.
- You earn meaningful commissions on every policy sold.
- To quantify: a company doing $3M/year in booking revenue could add up to $50,000/year in passive income, while adding real value for your clients ๐คฏ
Travelers can generate a quote in just a few clicks, and commissions can become a meaningful additional revenue stream while providing added protection for clients.
โ ๏ธ Important Note: Safari Portal does not sell, underwrite, or administer travel insurance policies. All policies are issued, managed, serviced, and supported directly by Redpoint Travel Protection.
Coverage questions, claims, eligibility inquiries, policy servicing, and commission payments are handled exclusively by Redpoint.
Before You Begin
Obtain your insurance credentials and connect your Safari Portal account to Redpoint.
Recommended Setup
We recommend:
- Creating a Travel Dashboard
- Adding a Forms card
- Adding a Travel Insurance card immediately afterward
This allows traveler information to prepopulate the insurance flow, and provides the most streamlined client experience.
- Open the relevant File
- Click Create New โ Travel Dashboard
- Pro Tip: Save a Travel Dashboard template with a Travel Insurance card already there.
- Add a Travel Insurance card
- Optionally, add a Forms card immediately before the Travel Insurance card
When travelers complete forms before requesting a quote, their information will automatically prepopulate portions of the insurance flow.
A File does not need to be confirmed before insurance can be offered through a Travel Dashboard, and travelers do not need to complete forms beforehand.
Option 2: Offer Travel Insurance via a Bookable Trip
โญ๏ธ Benefit to this option: Travelers can then obtain travel insurance as part of the same flow used to confirm and deposit for their trip.
How to Enable Travel Insurance on a Bookable Itinerary or Lookbook
- Open the relevant File
- Click Edit beside the Itinerary or Lookbook
- Open the Itinerary or Lookbook tab
- Click Make Bookable
- Open the Forms and Insurance tab
- Enable Travel Insurance

If forms have not yet been completed, you can either prepopulate them by using the Add Existing Guest option or create traveler profiles manually before generating the quote.

- Open the relevant File
- Click Enter Portal
- Open the General Info tab
- Enable the Travel Insurance toggle

Troubleshooting
Insurance Not Showing?
- Confirm the Redpoint integration is connected under Account Settings โ Integrations
- Confirm Travel Insurance is enabled within the specific Travel Dashboard, Guest Portal, or Bookable Trip
- Travel Insurance is not available on white-labeled itineraries created for partner agents
Travelers Live in Different States or Countries?
Travelers included on a single quote must reside in the same country. For US-based travelers, all travelers must also reside in the same state.
If travelers reside in different locations:
- Generate one quote for travelers in the same state or country
- Repeat the process for additional travelers separately
Pricing
- The Redpoint Essentials plan is generally priced at approximately 6.5% of trip cost.
- Cancel For Any Reason coverage typically increases the premium significantly and may approximately double the cost, depending on the specific trip and traveler details.
