🗺️ Itineraries
Getting Started Guide: Create detailed itineraries with information about accommodations, dates, flights, and logistics, and more

This is the part where ideas turn into actual plans. A travel Itinerary will likely include logistical details such as transportation between locations, number of nights at each property, planned activities and excursions, dates, costs, inclusions, and more.

Your clients should be able to refer back to this at all times to remind themselves what each day of their trip entails; you are always able to generate a print-friendly Word or PDF version of any Itinerary or Lookbook, and the digital links can also be accessed via the Travel Portal app (even while offline).

Classic Builder Itineraries

There are two ways to build Itineraries within Safari Portal. The first is the Classic Builder, and this is well suited to Itineraries where the accommodation is a large drawcard i.e. a safari experience or a beach resort, where there aren't set timings for specific events or activities each day.

Other pro's to using Classic Builder:

  • It is very quick to build Itineraries this way.
  • Great to share a quick outline of a trip.
  • Can work very well for hotel stays, beach holidays, or safaris.

Calendar Builder Itineraries

The second is the Calendar Builder which suits more of an experience or activity-based Itinerary, i.e. a summer trip in Europe, where there may be several events or activities on a single day and they may be time sensitive.

Other pro's to using Calendar Builder:

  • Pull in flights on the Itinerary level, whereas with Classic Builder you can only do this once you confirm the trip and create the Guest Portal.
  • Automatically generates a table overview of the trip, with tabs to filter by flights or accommodations only.
  • Creates one page for each day or group of days in the itinerary, making reading through the itinerary logical and easy to follow.
  • Gives you the option of whether you want to have text over the left side images or not (via the Itinerary Settings gear icon in the top right).

⚠️Important: It is not possible to convert from a Classic Itinerary to a Calendar Itinerary.
