Quick Takeaways
- In this webinar, Safari Portal officially announced its new travel insurance integration with Redpoint Travel Protection, featuring a streamlined “few clicks” purchase flow inside the Guest Portal.
- The integration is designed to be zero admin: guests get an instant quote without re-entering info, policies are added automatically to the Guest Portal/travel wallet, and commissions are earned automatically.
- Redpoint created an exclusive Safari Portal plan priced at 6.5% of total trip cost—positioned as a big savings versus typical market pricing (which often varies by age and trip cost).
- How to access it: once a traveler completes their Guest Portal forms, they can click "Get instant quote" at the bottom of the forms page to start the insurance flow.
- Quotes are pre-filled using itinerary + form data, but guests will still need to enter date of initial trip payment (important for eligibility timing) and trip cost per person (enter the USD equivalent).
- Guests can edit departure/return dates (e.g., to include pre/post trip coverage); changes made during checkout are part of the same purchase, but later amendments may require an additional payment handled directly through Redpoint.
- For U.S. travelers, guests included on the same policy must be in the same state (they can run the flow multiple times to cover different states). Larger groups may be better on separate policies due to aggregate policy limits.
- Coverage is available for U.S. and non-U.S. residents (UK/Canada/Australia, etc.), and trips can be insured well in advance (up to ~3 years, per the discussion). Premiums are paid in USD (with conversion on the payer’s side).
- Optional upgrade: Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) can be added during checkout. CFAR and pre-existing condition coverage are time-sensitive—generally must be purchased within ~15 days of the initial trip payment.
- Getting set up: complete a short setup form and sign a non-exclusive agreement (so you can still use other providers). The Safari Portal feature was targeted to go live soon, in roughly a couple of weeks, and you’ll enter your Redpoint account ID once enabled (with a toggle to turn it on/off).
