Use an @ mention to get a teammate’s attention on a note. They’ll get a notification in the Notifications Center (the bell icon at the top of Safari Portal) and an email, so nothing slips through the cracks. You can mention teammates in these places:
- File Notes
- Traveler Notes
- Contact notes
- Payment notes
- Property notes
- Content Page notes
- Tasks
- Task Templates
- Internal Notes on Itineraries, Lookbooks, templates, events, and Travel Dashboards
Mention a Teammate
You can mention any active user on your Safari Portal account, including yourself. You can't mention clients or Partner Agents.
- Open any of the note boxes listed above.
- Type @, then start typing your teammate's name.
- Pick your teammate from the list.
- Finish your note and save it.
- The person you mentioned shows up highlighted in your note.
For example, to mention someone in a File Note, open the File, click Open File Details, then click Notes. Write your note and click Add Note.
The Notifications Center
Each notification shows who sent it, where it happened (like the File name), and the start of the note.
- Click the bell icon at the top of the page. A blue dot on the bell means you have unread notifications.
- Click Unread to see only new notifications, or All to see everything.
- Click a notification to open the note where you were mentioned.
See All Your Notifications
- Click the bell icon, then click View All at the bottom.
- A larger panel opens with all your notifications in a table. It shows Who, What, Where, and When for each one.
- Click the three dots under Actions to View a notification or Mark As Read.
Filter Your Notifications
When a filter is on, Filters turns blue and shows how many filters you picked.
- Click Filters.
- Check the types of notifications you want to see.
- Click Apply Filters.
You can filter by:
- Mentions: a teammate mentioned you in a note.
- Form Submitted: someone submitted a form.
- Task Set Received: a teammate shared a Task Set with you.
- Task Assigned: a Task was assigned to you or added for you on a File.
- Invoice Payments: an invoice payment is pending or was received.
Mark Notifications as Read
- Open it: Clicking a notification marks it as read.
- One at a time: Click the check mark on a notification to mark it as read without opening it.
- All at once: Click Mark As Read at the top.
- The blue dot goes away once all your notifications are read.
Snooze a Notification
Snooze hides a notification for now and brings it back later, like a reminder. You can snooze notifications from the panel that opens when you click the bell. Snooze isn't available in View All.
- Click the bell icon at the top of the page.
- Hover over the notification you want to snooze. Two icons show up on the right: a check mark and a bell with a "z" inside it. You only see the check mark if the notification is unread.
- Click the bell with a "z".
- Choose when you want the notification to come back:
- Tomorrow: it comes back at the start of tomorrow.
- Next Week: it comes back seven days from today.
- Custom Date: pick any future date from the calendar.
- Click Confirm.
📌 Note: The notification disappears from your list right away, including the All and Unread tabs. You can't see it again until it comes back. On the day you picked, it comes back at the top of your list as unread, with a blue dot.
Update Your Notification Settings
Your Notification Settings control the emails you get when someone mentions you. Mention emails are on by default. You can turn them off, or get one summary email a day instead.
- Click your initial at the top right of the page, then click Settings.
- Click the Notifications tab at the top.
- Click Mentions to open it.
- To stop mention emails, uncheck Email me when someone @mentions me.
- To change how often you get them, choose Every time or Once a day next to Notify.
- Click Save.
📌 Note: Once a day sends one email at 8 AM with all your mentions from the past day.
Tips & Tricks 💥
- Set a reminder for yourself: Type @ and pick your own name. You'll get a notification in the Notifications Center, but no email.
- Don't see a new notification? The blue dot updates when you refresh the page or go to another page in Safari Portal. You can also click the bell to see your latest notifications.
- Quick way to your email settings: Click Click here at the bottom of any mention email.
- If your teammate can't see the File: They'll get an email saying they were mentioned, but the note won't be in it. The mention also won't show up in their Notifications Center. This happens when their user permissions only let them see Files they own. To let them see all Files, an admin can go to Settings, click the Users tab, open that user's permissions, and turn on View all files in the Files section.
