You can sync Itinerary events to your calendar from any Overview or Travel Brief section (client-facing, the Itinerary tab, or within the Guest Portal).
When you click the Sync to Calendar button from a Calendar Builder Itinerary, you can choose to sync the following event types:
- Flights
- Activities
- Information
- Accommodations
How calendar syncing works
Safari Portal creates calendar events as all-day events rather than blocking out specific times.
This is intentional. Because travelers may access their calendars from different time zones than where their trip events occur, syncing events at fixed times can lead to confusion or display incorrectly. To ensure events remain accurate regardless of where they are viewed, Safari Portal syncs them as all-day events and includes any specific times within the event details.
Instead, Safari Portal:
- Syncs events in the correct chronological order
- Creates them as all-day calendar entries
- Includes any times entered into the itinerary within the calendar event details
This approach ensures that flights, transfers, activities, and reservations remain accurate regardless of the traveler's location or calendar application.
Tips & Tricks 💥
- When you or your client subscribes to the calendar, you can configure the calendar app to check for updates regularly, allowing itinerary changes to sync automatically.
- Events will appear as all-day entries.
- To remove the calendar, simply unsubscribe from it in your preferred calendar application.
- Events will sync to the default calendar configured on your device; you cannot select a different calendar during the subscription process.
- For the most accurate and complete trip information, travelers should refer to their itinerary, Travel Dashboard, or Travel Portal app.
