Quick Takeaways
- In this webinar, Safari Portal demoed its new Google Sheets Pricing Integration and walked through setup, exporting from Calendar Builder, and tips for building accurate costings.
- To enable, go to Account Settings → Integrations → Google Sheets → Connect and authorize Drive access. (Rest assured, this permission only allows Safari Portal to create sheets; it does not allow Safari Portal to browse your Drive.)
- On the final Itinerary tab, open the Save dropdown and choose Save to Google Sheet. A file will appear in your Drive within seconds, named with the file and proposal title.
- Includes client name (manual), file name, optional reference number, consultant, start/end dates, nights, and confirmed guests, plus editable exchange rates (e.g., ZAR→EUR, ZAR→USD) and a standard markup that pre-fills the markup column.
- Enter net costs and adjust markup per line (e.g., 10% on transfers). Rack is calculated with net ÷ (1 − markup) (so 10% = ÷0.9; 25% = ÷0.75). Pax and units are fully editable.
- The sheet totals net, rack, and profit, and displays total rack and rack per person at the bottom. Edits to guests, units, or nights update the totals instantly.
- Add admin or other fees (e.g., $250) in the dedicated column. The sheet adds them to the trip total and spreads them per person across all guests.
- Re-exporting the itinerary appends a new tab to the same spreadsheet, keeping iterations together while you input fresh net rates.
- The sheet doesn’t save vendor rates for reuse, and changes in Safari Portal don’t sync back; simply export again for updates. A native in-app pricing tool is a priority for next year.
