How do I input International Dateline flights in the Calendar Builder?
Tips for managing Calendar Builder Itineraries when flights cross the International Dateline, i.e. when a flight arrives before it departs.

When working with international flights that cross the International Date Line, it's important to document Itinerary details in a way that avoids confusion for clients and maintains chronological clarity. For example, if a client is flying from Auckland to Los Angeles, they will arrive before they departed, due to the time zone change.

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. Add Flight Event.
  2. Click tab for Add Flight Manually.
  3. Use the Local Departure Date and Time.
    1. Example: Departure is January 14th, 1:10 AM from Auckland International Airport. This reflects the actual local date and time the flight leaves New Zealand.
  4. In the Arrival section,
    1. Set the Date to be the same date as departure (even though they are technically arriving the day before)
    2. In the Arriving To field, type in the date that they are technically arriving as well as the details about where they are flying into and what time they arrive
      1. Example: Type into the Arriving To field: "January 13th into LAX at 5:25 PM"

4. Add an explanatory Note.

    1. Example: This flight crosses the International Date Line, resulting in arrival in Los Angeles on January 13th, despite departing Auckland on January 14th.

Here’s how the Flight will appear on the Travel Brief.
