Quick Takeaways

  • Reach for a Classic itinerary when the trip follows a general flow, like three nights here and four nights there, and the client wants structure and sequence without exact timings. If each day is packed with activities, tours, and transfers, Calendar Builder is the better fit. For a rough "a couple of nights here, a couple there" suggestion, Rachel prefers Classic over a Lookbook. What is the difference between a Lookbook and an Itinerary?
  • Internal notes now sit right in the builder. Clients never see them, and they're searchable from your Files dashboard. Soon you'll be able to @mention teammates in any internal note across the platform and they'll get a notification. What are Internal Itinerary Notes?
  • Flights and transfers with times can now be added straight into the table view. They flow into the travel brief on your travel dashboards, and a new Getting Around tab shows clients every transfer and flight. For a private charter, use the add flight manually option, since charters aren't in the GDS.
  • Flight notifications get far more control: choose who receives them (you, the file owner, the sales consultant, the travelers, or someone else like a pickup driver), and which updates go out, such as time changes, gate changes, and baggage carousels. Notifications start 72 hours before the flight, and you can save your choices as defaults.
  • Display settings let you control the text on the travel brief, so an @mentioned page can read "Your home in Nairobi" instead of the property name. Room types, number of rooms, and basis of stay are picked once in the table view and show on the travel brief too, so a change only needs to be made in one place.
  • You can now show days of the week and display times in 24-hour format, which matters once flights and transfers are in the mix.
  • The old General Info, Details, Cost, and Itinerary tabs are gone. You work in the table view and the itinerary view, and add About Us, terms and conditions, cost pages, blank pages, or full-width image chapter breaks right from the table of contents. Any page you tweak can be saved back to your library.
  • The cover page is more flexible. "Prepared for" is no longer added automatically, so you can write "Curated for" or anything you like, and the sub-headline can be any text, not just the travel dates.
  • Text formatting has arrived: bold, italics, underline, hyperlinks, emojis, colored text, and tables.
  • Build a quick sketch in Classic, then convert it to Calendar Builder once the trip confirms and you need more operational detail. Your rows, room types, basis of stay, and notes all carry across.
  • Translation covers the whole itinerary, not just the system text. Tweak the wording, save translated pages to your library, export to PDF or Word in that language, or turn on automatic translation to the client's browser language. It's an add-on that supports 25 languages. How to Translate Lookbooks and Itineraries Using Superbuilder
  • Content library updates now only break the link for the element you changed, so the rest of the page keeps updating from your library. Audit logs show what changed and when.
  • Themes give you control over layouts, fonts, colors, button styles, font size, the navigation bar, and PDF downloads. Custom templates are being rebuilt as custom themes you can edit yourself.
  • Superbuilder Lookbooks are live now, and Rachel is targeting a launch for Superbuilder Classic Itineraries later this month. Original Lookbooks will be phased out sometime next year. Existing itineraries can't be converted into Superbuilder yet, so rebuild them for now; migration is planned for early next year.
  • Group trips and Magic Import will only be supported in Calendar Builder. Calendar Builder will also offer multi-day pages, so a stay can show as one page like in Classic.
  • Collaborating with agents at other companies is coming in a synced version, aimed for next month, and partners only need a free account to work on what you share with them.
