Types of Photos
Safari Portal Photos
The Photos tab of the Media Library comprises a carefully curated collection of professional images from around the world, specifically designed for use within Safari Portal.
- Features:
- A unique collection of high-quality photos that have been meticulously tagged to enable you to find the right photo when you need it.
- Can be used across any Safari Portal Content Pages, itineraries, lookbooks, and Guest Portals.
- Sources:
- Images are sourced from Unsplash, Getty (licensed for reuse), and Safari Portal’s internal network of professional photographers.
- Important Notes:
- Usage Restrictions: These photos can only be used within Safari Portal and are not permitted for external use, such as on websites, social media, or other marketing materials.
- ⛔️ Supplier photos attached to individual Property Pages are not included in this library.
Your Photos
The Photos tab in the Media Library also stores any photos that you upload directly into Safari Portal.
- How It Works:
- Any image added to a Content Page, Itinerary, Lookbook, or Guest Portal is automatically saved to your Media Library for future use.
- Best Practices:
- Tagging: When uploading photos, always tag them with relevant keywords. The library’s search function is 100% reliant on photo names and tags, so tagging is crucial for finding images later.
- Setting a Focal Point: Always set a focal point when uploading images. This ensures the image is cropped appropriately, whether it’s displayed in a photo grid, slideshow, or viewed on mobile, tablet, or desktop.
- Important Notes:
- Privacy: Photos you upload are only accessible within your own account. No external users or other Safari Portal accounts can view or use your photos.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Click the stacked-files icon on the left-hand side of Safari Portal to open the Media Library, then select the Photos tab.
- Hover over any photo to see its name in the bottom left, along with an edit (pencil) icon and a delete (trash can) icon in the top right.
- Click a photo to view its keyword tags.
- Click the edit icon to change the photo's focal point, name, or keyword tags. The focal point updates in the preview as soon as you choose it.
- Click Save to keep your changes, or Cancel to discard them.
- Click Upload in the top right to add new photos directly to the library. You don't need to wait until you add them to a Content Page, Itinerary, Lookbook, Guest Portal, or Travel Dashboard. You can also bulk upload images.
- Use the search field in the top right to find a photo by name or tag. Search only looks within the tab you're currently viewing, so make sure you're on the Photos tab first.
- Filter your results by source (Your Photos, Safari Portal Photos, or All Photos) or by keyword.
Tips & Tricks 💥
- Safari Portal Media photos can only be used inside Safari Portal proposals. They aren't licensed for external use, such as on your website, in email marketing, or on social media.
- Supplier photos attached to individual Property Pages aren't included in the Photos tab.
- Photos you upload are only visible within your own account.
- Tag your photos thoroughly. Tags can be long and don't need to be broken into single words, so add whatever descriptors help you find the photo later, like "elephant" before "Kwali River Lodge."
- Always set a focal point when you upload a photo. It keeps the right part of the image in view no matter how it's cropped, whether in a photo grid, slideshow, or on mobile, tablet, or desktop.
- Remember, search only looks within whichever tab you're currently viewing, so switch tabs first if you can't find something.
