How can I share a Safari Portal PDF download in another language?
Steps to share translated PDF downloads.

Safari Portal’s built-in AI translation feature works on client-facing digital proposals, but PDFs exported from the platform are only available in English. If you need to share a translated Itinerary or Lookbook PDF with your clients, here’s a simple workaround.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Create a Translated PDF

  1. From Safari Portal, save the Itinerary or Lookbook as a PDF.
    1. When prompted to Save PDF with images, click no.
  2. Upload the PDF to a translation service such as DeepL (Safari Portal’s translation provider).
    1. When using DeepL, free accounts are available, or you can use the paid version for faster and higher-quality results.
  3. Select the original language (English) and choose the target language (e.g., Danish).
  4. Click Start Translation.
    1. Translation may take a few minutes depending on the length of the Itinerary or Lookbook. Once finished, the document will be automatically saved to the Downloads folder on your computer.
  5. The translated PDF will include the chosen language code in its filename (e.g., filename da.pdf for Danish).
    1. Review the File to ensure quality, noting that AI translations may not be perfect.
  6. Add the translated PDF to your Safari Portal Document Library.

Add the Translated PDF to Safari Portal

  1. Open the Itinerary or Lookbook in the inline editor.
  2. Select the page and location where you want to insert the translated PDF.
  3. Open the Element Library and select PDF.
  4. Click Add PDF in the PDF Element.
  5. Use the search bar to find the translated PDF in your Document Library and insert it into the Itinerary or Lookbook.
  6. Using the Text Element in the Element Library, add a note for your client.
    1. For example, Download this version in Danish.

Tips & Tricks 💥

  • You can change hard-coded text (text that cannot be edited in Safari Portal) in the Itinerary or Lookbook Settings.
  • Other editable text (e.g., content you add) can be translated automatically on-screen using Safari Portal’s translation tool.
  • You can repeat this process for multiple languages (e.g., Czech, Russian, etc.) and add them to the Itinerary for group bookings, ensuring each guest has access to an Itinerary in their preferred language.
