๐ TLDR: Travel Dashboard Templates allow you to save an existing Travel Dashboard and reuse it as the starting point for future dashboards.
Whether you've created the perfect confirmed trip hub, planning dashboard, multi-trip client portal, or post-booking experience, templates make it easy to recreate that structure again and again without starting from scratch.
How It Works
Travel Dashboard Templates save the layout and structure of your dashboard, allowing you to quickly create new dashboards based on a proven design.
This is especially useful if you:
- Use a consistent workflow for most clients
- Want to standardize your client experience across your team
- Regularly create similar planning, booking, or travel dashboards
- Want to save time building dashboards from scratch
Creating a Travel Dashboard Template
- Open the Travel Dashboard you'd like to use as a template.
- Click the Save as Template option.
- Enter a name for your template.
- Save the template.
Your Travel Dashboard Template is now available for future use.
Creating a New Travel Dashboard from a Template
- Create a new Travel Dashboard.
- Choose Start from Template.
- Select the template you'd like to use.
- Create your dashboard.
Safari Portal will generate a new Travel Dashboard using the structure and settings from your template.
What Gets Saved in a Travel Dashboard Template?
Travel Dashboard Templates save the overall dashboard structure, including:
- Section order
- Section titles and descriptions
- Welcome message
- Card titles and descriptions
- Dashboard layout
Depending on the card type, some cards save their content while others save only their configuration.
Content That Is Saved
The following content is duplicated when creating a dashboard from a template:
- Content Pages
- Lists
- Documents
Content That Is Reattached
The following cards save their settings and are automatically connected to the File that the new dashboard is nested in when a dashboard is created from the template:
- Forms
- Invoices
- Flights
- Insurance
Content That Saves Settings Only
The following cards save their display settings, but not the underlying trip content:
- Itineraries
- Lookbooks
When creating a dashboard from a template, you'll be able to select the itinerary or lookbook you'd like the card to display.
Editing a Travel Dashboard Template
Travel Dashboard Templates can be edited from the Templates tab.
To edit an existing template:
- Navigate to Templates.
- Open the Travel Dashboard Templates section.
- Select the template you would like to edit.
- Make your changes.
- Save the template.
Any changes you make will be available the next time a Travel Dashboard is created from that template.
Note: Updating a template will not affect any Travel Dashboards that have already been created from it. Changes only apply to future dashboards created using the updated template.
Sharing Templates with Your Team
When editing a Travel Dashboard Template, you can also control who has access to use it.
Depending on your account permissions, you may be able to:
- Keep the template private for your own use.
- Share the template with your entire team.
Team templates are a great way to standardize client experiences, ensure brand consistency, and give advisors a pre-built starting point for common workflows.
Note: The ability to create, edit, and share templates across your team is controlled by user permissions. If you do not see these options, contact your account administrator.
Current Limitations
At this time, Travel Dashboard Templates are created by first building a Travel Dashboard and then saving it as a template.
Soon, you'll also be able to create and manage Travel Dashboard Templates directly from the Templates section of Safari Portal.
Best Practices
We recommend creating separate templates for different stages of the client journey, such as:
- Planning & Inspiration
- Proposal & Feedback
- Confirmed Trip Hub
- Pre-Departure Information
- Multi-Trip Client Hub
This allows you to quickly launch a polished, consistent experience for every client while still customizing the details of each trip.
