Magic Import makes it easier than ever to build itineraries in Safari Portal by importing information from existing documents instead of entering everything manually.

Whether you're working with a booking confirmation, an e-ticket, or an existing itinerary PDF, Magic Import helps you get a head start on building your itinerary.

How to Access Magic Import

There are two ways to access Magic Import:

Option 1: When Creating a New Itinerary

1. Create a new itinerary in Safari Portal.
2. Select Calendar as your itinerary type.
3. Choose Magic Import instead of starting from scratch.
4. Follow the prompts to import your document.
   

Option 2: From an Existing Calendar Itinerary

Already started building your itinerary? You can still use Magic Import!

1. Open your Calendar Itinerary.
2. Navigate to the Board View.
3. Click More Options.
4. Select Magic Import.
5. Follow the prompts to import your document.
   

Magic Import is also accessible directly from the empty Board View before you've added your first event.

What Can You Import?

Magic Import supports importing information from existing travel documents, including:

• Booking confirmations
• E-tickets
• Itinerary PDFs
• Word documents
  

This is particularly useful when you're working with Supplier confirmations or converting an existing itinerary into Safari Portal.

Review & Customize Your Itinerary

Magic Import typically takes 1–5 minutes to process your document.

If the import takes longer than one minute, we'll send you an email as soon as it's complete, so there's no need to wait on the page. You can continue working elsewhere and return to your itinerary when you receive the notification.

Review Suggested Content Pages

Once your document has been imported, a window will appear with a summary of the imported events and suggested Content Library pages to associate with them.

Safari Portal automatically preselects relevant Content Pages based on close or exact matches to the accommodations, activities, and other events identified in your document.

From here, you can:

• Review the imported events to make sure the information is accurate and complete.
• Review suggested Content Pages and confirm or change Safari Portal's selections.
• Choose different Content Pages from your Content Library or create new ones as needed.
• Rename individual events to customize how they'll appear in your itinerary.
  

Once you're happy with your selections, you can continue editing your itinerary in Superbuilder.

Make It Your Own

You can then take advantage of all the flexibility of Superbuilder to:

• Add or edit flights, accommodations, transfers, and activities.
• Attach additional Content Library pages.
• Customize booking details, notes, and Visibility Settings.
• Rearrange events using drag and drop.
• Customize the client-facing itinerary's design and layout.
  

Pro Tip: Always double-check imported dates, times, booking details, and Content Page selections before sharing your itinerary with travelers. While Magic Import does the heavy lifting, reviewing the results helps ensure everything is accurate and ready to share.

When Should You Use Magic Import?

Magic Import is particularly helpful when:

• You've received a Supplier's booking confirmation.
• You're working from an existing itinerary PDF.
• You want to avoid manually entering information that's already available in another document.
