How do I create a Superbuilder Classic Itinerary?
Create, customize, and share beautiful property-based itineraries in minutes.

Superbuilder Classic Itineraries are designed to make building property-focused trips faster and easier than ever. They're ideal for hotel-only bookings, beach holidays, safaris, and other trips where accommodations form the foundation of the itinerary.

With Superbuilder, you can build your itinerary using a simple table, automatically pull in relevant pages from your Content Library, and customize the final presentation to match your brand.

This guide walks you through creating a Classic Itinerary from scratch, adding accommodations and travel arrangements, customizing your pages, and publishing and sharing your itinerary with clients.

Create a New Classic Itinerary

  1. From your Files Dashboard, click Create New and select Itinerary (Superbuilder).
  2. Choose Superbuilder Classic Itinerary to start from scratch. Note: support for Templates will come later.
  3. Under File Information, associate your itinerary with an existing File or create a new one.
  4. Add Internal Notes to help your team identify the itinerary. These notes are searchable from your Files Dashboard, making it easy to find itineraries by destination, property, or other details.
  5. Under Cover Page, customize the information displayed on your itinerary's cover. You'll see a live preview that updates as you type.
    • Proposal Title: Enter the main title of your itinerary.
    • Prepared For: Enter the text you'd like displayed above the title. This field is fully customizable and doesn't have to include a client's name.
    • Sub Headline: Add an optional subtitle, such as travel dates, destinations, or a description of the trip.
  6. Under Add Content, search for and select any additional pages from your Content Library. This section is intended for supporting pages, such as About Us, Terms & Conditions, Introductory Notes, or Next Steps. You'll add your day-by-day itinerary details in the next step.
  7. Expand More Options to customize your branding and mobile app settings.
    • White Label: Display a partner agent's branding instead of your own.
      • Co-Branding: Display your logo alongside your partner agent's logo.
    • Mobile App: If you have a custom-branded mobile app, it will be selected automatically. Otherwise, the default Travel Portal app will be used.
  8. Continue to the Table View to start building your itinerary.

Note: You can rearrange any of the additional pages you've selected later in the itinerary editor.

Build Your Itinerary Using Table View

The Table View is where you'll enter your itinerary's day-by-day details.

Instead of building each page individually, you can enter your travel arrangements, accommodations, and other information into a simple table, @mentioning any relevant pages from your Content Library that you want included in the itinerary.

Superbuilder then uses this information to automatically generate your itinerary, including a Travel Brief, Map, accommodation pages, and relevant destination and activity content.

Add Your First Row

  1. Click Add Row.
  2. Select the date or date range for the event.
  3. In the Transfers, Flights, and Daily Activities section, enter details about what is happening, such as arrivals, transfers, activities, or other travel arrangements.
  4. Use the Accommodations & Rooming section to add the properties and rooms where your clients will be staying.
  5. Add any Internal Notes for your team in the right-hand column.

You can add as many rows as needed and rearrange them as your itinerary develops.

Add Accommodations From Your Content Library

You can quickly add properties and their associated content without manually creating individual pages.

  1. In the Accommodations & Rooming section, type the @ symbol to search your Content Library.
  2. Search for the property you'd like to include.
  3. Select the property page. You can preview a page before selecting it to confirm you're using the correct version.
  4. Choose the rooms you'd like to include and specify the number of each room type. You can also enter a custom room title, or skip this step.
  5. Select the Basis of Stay from the available options or enter your own, or skip this step.
  6. Customize the text that will appear for the accommodation in your Travel Brief, if desired.
  7. Choose whether to include the suggested Area Page associated with the property. You can accept the suggested page or search your Content Library for a different version, or skip this step.

Once added, you'll see a preview of how the accommodation will appear in the Travel Brief.

Pages included through an @ mention are highlighted in blue, making it easy to identify which Content Library pages will be pulled into your itinerary.

Tip: Pages marked with a purple triangle are Safari Portal-provided content. You can also use your own Content Library pages.

Add Flights and Transfers

In addition to linking Content Library pages, you can use the @ symbol to add structured flight and transfer events.

To add a transfer:

  1. Type @ in the description field and select Transfer.
  2. Enter the departure and arrival locations and times.
  3. Optionally add details such as confirmation number, duration, provider, booked by, vehicle type, and additional notes.
  4. Save the transfer.

To add a flight:

  1. Type @ and select Flight.
  2. Search for a flight by flight number or route, or enter the flight details manually.
  3. Add any additional information or notes, such as luggage restrictions.
  4. Save the flight.

Commercial flights can be searched through the flight database. Private flights and smaller regional flights may need to be entered manually if they aren't available in the database.

Note: All additional flight and transfer fields are optional. Any fields you leave blank will simply be omitted from the client-facing itinerary.

Flights and transfers added through the Table View will also automatically appear in the Getting Around section of your Travel Brief.

Format Text and Add Internal Notes

Both client-facing descriptions and internal notes support rich text formatting.

You can:

  • Bold, italicize, or underline text
  • Create bulleted lists
  • Add emojis
  • Change text colors to highlight important information
  • Insert hyperlinks
  • Undo or redo changes

The Internal Notes column is visible only to your team, making it useful for booking updates, reminders, and other operational information that shouldn't appear in the client's itinerary.

Customize Your Itinerary Settings

Before publishing, you can customize how your itinerary looks and what information is displayed from the Settings button and the More Options menu.

Hide Travel Dates

If your client's dates aren't confirmed yet, you can hide the actual dates from the itinerary.

To do this, click the Settings button at the top of the Table View, next to Add Row. Then turn on Hide dates.

Your clients will see Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc., rather than specific calendar dates.

This is especially useful when preparing initial proposals with flexible travel dates.

Configure Flight Notifications

From More Options, select Flight Notifications to configure who should receive notifications about flight changes.

You can set up notifications for your clients, yourself, or other members of your team.

Apply a Theme

A Theme controls the fonts, colors, layout, and overall appearance of your itinerary.

  1. Click More Options, then Theme.
  2. Select an existing theme or create a new one.
  3. Customize the available options, including:
    • Layout: Choose from different itinerary layouts.
    • Fonts: Select a font pairing or customize your fonts.
    • Colors: Adjust text, accent, and other colors.
    • Buttons: Customize button colors and shapes.
    • Settings: Control options such as the navigation bar, contact icon, and whether clients can download the itinerary as a PDF.
  4. Apply your selected theme.
  5. Optionally set a default theme for all your itineraries and lookbooks using the three dots next to the theme.

You can also request custom fonts if your company's fonts aren't available in the existing selection. Additional fees may apply.

Additional Options

From the More Options menu, you can also:

  • Itinerary Details: Update the itinerary's original setup information.
  • Translate: Translate your itinerary into another language.
  • Audit Logs: Review changes made to the itinerary, including who made each change and when. You can filter the log by user or date range.
  • Convert from Classic to Calendar: more about this in the section below.

Review and Customize Your Generated Itinerary

As you add information in Table View, Superbuilder automatically builds your itinerary using the details and Content Library pages you've selected.

You can then customize individual pages, rearrange content, and make additional changes before sharing it with your clients.

Cover Page

Your cover page includes the title, introductory text, and other information you entered when creating the itinerary.

Superbuilder can also automatically suggest a relevant travel quote based on the destinations and content included in your itinerary.

You can refresh the suggested quote, search the quote library, or write your own.

Travel Brief

The Travel Brief provides an at-a-glance overview of the trip.

It automatically brings together the information you've entered in Table View, including:

  • Daily travel arrangements and activities
  • Accommodations and rooming information
  • Flights and transfers

Clients can also switch to the Getting Around view to see just their flights and transfers.

They can sync itinerary events to their personal calendar, making it easy to keep their travel plans accessible.

Accommodation and Area Pages

When you add a property from your Content Library, Superbuilder automatically pulls in the associated property content and the specific rooms you've selected.

If you've chosen to include suggested Area Pages, those will also be added.

You can rearrange these pages directly from the Table of Contents.

For example, you might prefer to display a destination overview before the property information.

Add or Rearrange Pages

You can add additional pages anywhere in your itinerary.

  1. Hover between two pages in the Table of Contents until the blue line and plus sign appear.
  2. Click the plus sign to add a page.
  3. Choose the page type you'd like to include.

You can also drag and drop pages within the Table of Contents to change their order.

Add a Costs Page

Unlike the previous itinerary builder, Superbuilder doesn't automatically add a Costs Page.

To include one:

  1. Hover between pages in the Table of Contents and click the plus sign.
  2. Select Costs Page.
  3. Enter your pricing and any additional information about inclusions or exclusions.
  4. Use Hide Section or Show Section to control which sections appear.
  5. Save your Costs Page.

You can also start from an existing Costs Page template to automatically populate previously saved information.

Important: Before saving, you must confirm that you're responsible for the accuracy of the cost information, including inclusions and exclusions.

You can save your completed Costs Page as a template to reuse in future itineraries.

Edit and Customize Individual Pages

Every page in your generated itinerary can be further customized.

You can edit existing text, replace images, and add new elements to create a more personalized presentation.

For example, you might want to:

  • Rename a page heading
  • Add additional images or videos
  • Insert a PDF
  • Add an accordion section
  • Embed a Google Map or Calendly link
  • Include a Spotify playlist

To add an element, hover between existing elements on a page and click the plus sign to open the Element Library.

Change Images

Superbuilder automatically suggests images based on the destinations included in your itinerary.

You can replace these with images from:

  • Your own Content Library
  • Safari Portal's image library
  • Unsplash
  • Your computer, by uploading an image
  • Images pasted directly into the editor

Save Customized Pages to Your Content Library

If you've customized a page and want to reuse it in future itineraries, you can save it to your Content Library.

From the page's menu in the Table of Contents, select Save as New Page.

This creates a reusable copy of the page in your Content Library without changing the original.

Add Booking Options

If you'd like clients to be able to take action directly from your itinerary, you can add booking options.

You can configure a booking flow or link a booking button to an email address or phone number.

This gives clients a convenient way to proceed with their booking directly from the itinerary.

Save, Publish, and Share Your Itinerary

Superbuilder automatically saves your work as you make changes.

Saving and publishing are two different steps:

  • Auto-Save: Your changes are saved automatically as you work.
  • Publish: Your changes become visible to clients when you click Publish.

This means you can build and edit your itinerary without those changes appearing in the version your client sees until you're ready.

Publish Your Itinerary

Once you've finished reviewing your itinerary, click Publish to make your changes live.

Download as a PDF

You can also download your itinerary as a PDF.

When generating a PDF, you can customize:

  • Which pages are included
  • How images are displayed
  • Whether accommodations appear in an annex at the end
  • Whether to include a link to the live itinerary in the footer

Select your preferred options and download the PDF.

Share With Clients

Click Share to access your sharing options.

You can share your itinerary using a link or send it directly by email.

When sharing by email, you can customize the message and save your email as a reusable template for future itineraries.

Access in the Mobile App

When you share an itinerary by email, it will automatically appear in your client's Travel Portal app, provided the recipient's email address matches the one they use to log in.

If they open the itinerary on their phone outside the app, they'll also see an option to open it in the app.

If your company has a custom-branded mobile app, the itinerary will sync to that app instead.

Convert a Classic Itinerary to Calendar

Classic Itineraries are particularly useful for property-focused trips, where accommodations are the main component of the itinerary.

However, if you need to add more detailed day-by-day arrangements, such as restaurant reservations, theater bookings, or multiple activities throughout the day, a Calendar Itinerary may be a better fit.

You don't have to start over!

You can convert an existing Classic Itinerary into a Calendar Itinerary directly from the builder using Convert from Classic to Calendar.

Note: Once you convert the itinerary to Calendar, you can’t switch back to Classic.

Superbuilder will rebuild your itinerary in the Calendar format, allowing you to continue adding more detailed travel arrangements.
