Quick Takeaways
- In this webinar, Safari Portal demoed its new Credit Card Authorization feature and welcomed African Bush Camps (ABC) to spotlight their portfolio, foundation work, and guest experiences.
- Credit card authorizations are built for convenience. From a contact’s profile, you can generate a secure link for either a general authorization (no fixed amount) or a fixed-amount request, and include supplier terms and cancellation policies right on the form.
- Security is front and center. Client details are captured via a PCI-compliant partner (Safari Portal never stores card numbers), links expire after 48 hours, submitted requests turn green for easy tracking, and viewing card details is password-protected—alongside general terms and a credit card information security notice.
- Cards are currently stored for 60 days, with an upcoming enhancement to request client permission to keep a card on file indefinitely.
- African Bush Camps overview: founded by Bex Indovu, ABC has 17 camps across Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia, organized into Expedition, Signature, and Icon experiences, with both family-friendly options and adult-leaning camps (12+).
- Dania shown a spotlight on Thorntree River Lodge, set in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park about 20 minutes from Victoria Falls and 25 minutes from Livingstone Airport. There are 12 riverfront luxury suites (two interleading pairs), max 24 guests, each with plunge pool, AC, Wi-Fi, and indoor/outdoor showers—plan three nights to fully enjoy it.
- Experiences from Thorntree are rich and varied: visits to the Falls (Zambia side included; Zimbabwe side included in Oct–Nov low-water months, or available year-round for a small fee with smooth border facilitation), sunrise and sunset river cruises, and the guided White Rhino Walk.
- Community and trade perks round it out. Included visits to the Maonga community (~40 minutes each way) let guests observe projects at the clinic and primary school—or even help serve meals in the school’s nutrition program (no pre-booking required; donations optional).
- Advisors can tap ABC’s agent portal for live availability, rates, specials, high-res images, and pre-priced Safari Packages already loaded in Safari Portal.
