What are the differences between Guest Portals attached to Classic itineraries versus Calendar itineraries?
About the Flights tab in Classic builder Guest Portals, and the Trip Manifest

Differences Between Guest Portals for Classic Builder and Calendar Builder Itineraries

Guest Portals attached to Classic Builder itineraries differ from those attached to Calendar Builder itineraries in several key ways:

Flights Tab

One of the most significant differences is how flight information is managed:

  • Calendar Builder:
    • You can easily add flight details directly into itineraries using the Flight Event feature.
    • Flights can be added via the Flight Search API or manually entered within the itinerary’s Details Tab.
  • Classic Builder:
    • There’s no option to add flight information in the same way within the Details Tab.
    • To address this, Guest Portals linked to Classic Builder itineraries include an additional tab—the Flights Tab.

Using the Flights Tab (Classic Builder Only)

In the Flights Tab, you can:

  • Search for flights using the integrated Flight Search API.
  • Manually add flight details, similar to how it’s done in Calendar Builder itineraries.
  • Add notes in the dedicated notes column for additional flight details or guest-specific information.

A Note About the Client-Facing Flights Page

When your clients access their Guest Portal, they can add flights themselves directly on the Flights page using a desktop or web browser.

Important: This feature is not available on the mobile app.

Pro Tip: Color-Code Flight Notes

Make it easy to identify flights relevant to specific guests:

  • Color-code notes to differentiate between travelers.
    • Example: Use blue notes for Dick and Jane’s flights and red notes for Jack and Jill’s flights.
  • This simple visual cue helps quickly identify which flights belong to whom, reducing confusion when reviewing itineraries.

Trip Manifest / Travel Brief Differences

Another key difference between Guest Portals for Classic Builder and Calendar Builder itineraries is how the Trip Manifest/Travel Brief page is displayed.

Calendar Builder

  • The Travel Brief page mirrors the Travel Brief table found within the itinerary itself.
  • It includes tabs that allow clients to filter and view specific information, such as Flights or Accommodations.

Classic Builder

  • The Trip Manifest restructures the information entered in the Details Tab when creating the itinerary.
  • This data, which also appears on the Overview Page of the itinerary, is displayed in a clean, table format for easy viewing.

Emergency Contacts Section (Available in Both Builders)

Below the Trip Manifest/Travel Brief table, there’s a dedicated section for Emergency Contacts, which you can customize in two ways:

  1. Using Content Library Contacts:
    • Create individual content pages for frequently used contacts in your Content Library.
    • Pull these contacts into the Trip Manifest using the Content Block element.
  2. Replacing with a Standalone Page:
    • Delete the default emergency contacts section.
    • Instead, add a pre-created standalone page from the General Info section when setting up the Guest Portal.
