How do I create an itinerary that includes a cruise, hike, or multi-day experience?

📌 This article is relevant to the Classic Builder and Calendar Builder.

Introduction

Creating an itinerary that includes a cruise or hike is completely doable in Safari Portal.

The trick is to create a Content Page either as an Activity Page or a Pre Travel Information page, or some combination of the two using the accordion Content Block.

Pro Tip: For inspiration, check out the Lemosho Hike page or the Endemic 5 Night Cruise Itinerary page in the Content Library.

Step-by-Step Instructions For Classic Builder

  • From the Details tab: Add an Accommodation or Multi-Day Activity by selecting the date range spanning from the first day to the last day of the hike or cruise.
  • In the Transfers, Flights, and Daily Activities section: Write a description like "Embark on your..." and use the @ symbol to search for and select the relevant activity description page from your Content Library.
  • In the Accommodations & Rooming section: Use the @ symbol to add the description of the camp or cruise ship, include the room type if applicable, and link the Area Page.

This flow will display the Day-by-Day details first, followed by the Area description page, and then the Property page.

Step-by-Step Instructions For Calendar Builder

You can also incorporate a Content page featuring a multi-day hike, activity, or cruise to the Calendar Builder as a "Multi-Day Activity" event. Here's how:

  • Add an Activity Event
  • Search for the relevant page from your Content Library
  • Select multi-day activity
  • Input the range of dates

This itinerary looks like this when built using Calendar Builder.

Another Option, Using the Insert Itinerary Feature

Another option is to create a standalone itinerary for the cruise, hike, or multi-day experience and then use the Insert Itinerary functionality to merge that itinerary into any other itinerary you need to later.
