What information is displayed on the Overview/ Travel Brief page in itineraries?
Overview (Travel Brief) Page: Classic Builder vs. Calendar Builder
Whether you're using the Classic Builder or the Calendar Builder, the system automatically generates an Overview (also known as the Travel Brief page) based on the information entered in the Details Tab. However, the display format differs depending on the builder you’re using.
Classic Builder Overview
In the Classic Builder, the information from the Details Tab is displayed as free-form text, centered on the page with specific formatting rules:
Key Formatting Details:
- Day Number/Date:
- When organized by day, the day number is displayed in bold.
- When organized by date, the date appears in bold instead.
- Accommodations and Rooming:
- If you've selected "Accommodation" as the content type, the number of nights is automatically displayed beneath the accommodation name.
- This is based on the check-in/check-out dates you’ve entered.
- @Mentioned Content:
- Any content you @mention will display as the name of the page.
- Example: If you type:
"Overnight @the four seasons miami"
and set check-in on Day 1 and check-out on Day 3, the Overview will display:
Overnight at The Four Seasons Miami
2 Nights
- Example: If you type:
- Note:
- Room types do NOT automatically display on the Overview page.
- If you want to show rooming information on the Overview, you can free type this in after @mentioning the page.
- This is the same if you would like to show meal inclusions or basis of stay. Read this help article for more.
- The names of suggested Area pages added during the @mention flow are NOT shown.
- Line Breaks:
- Any line breaks you add in the Details Tab will also be shown on the Overview page.
- Any line breaks you add in the Details Tab will also be shown on the Overview page.
Calendar Builder "Travel Brief"
Similar to the Overview page in the Classic Builder, the Travel Brief in Calendar Builder itineraries displays information pulled from the Details Tab. However, in the Calendar Builder, this information is presented in a structured table format.
Key Features of the Travel Brief Table:
- Daily or Grouped Rows:
- By default, the table shows a row for each day or a group of days based on the events entered in the Details Tab.
- Event Titles:
- If you’ve added an Event Title, it will automatically appear in the Travel Brief.
- Start & End Times:
- Any start and end times entered for an event will be displayed alongside the event title.
- Event Notes:
- Notes added to events are accessible by clicking "More Details" in the Travel Brief table.
- Filtering Tabs:
- Tabs are automatically generated to filter and view only Flight events or only Accommodation details.
- If there are no flights or accommodations, the respective tabs will be hidden automatically.
- Room Types & Meal Inclusions:
- Room types and basis of stay/meal inclusions are visible under "More Details" for accommodation events.
- Event Order:
- Events are displayed in the same order as they appear in the Timeline (to the left of the Calendar in the Details Tab).
- You can manage the order of events directly from the Timeline.
- Event Icons:
- Event icons can be customized when adding or editing events in their respective modals.
- These icons are also displayed on the individual day pages for easy visual reference.
A Note About Grouped Days:
- For multi-day events (e.g., accommodations spanning multiple nights or multi-day activities):
- If no other events occur on those days, the Travel Brief will display the event as a grouped row covering the entire date range.
- This avoids repeating the same information on separate rows for each day, making the itinerary cleaner and more concise.
