How do I create a Lookbook?
Share inspiration, options, and ideas quickly

Lookbooks are an incredibly powerful tool in Safari Portal because they allow you to create a teaser of options, ideas, or inspiration for a potential trip very quickly.

This means that you can engage a potential client right away and keep them within your ecosystem rather than googling on the internet somewhere and possibly end up shopping other operators.

Here are some different ways of using Lookbooks:

  • Options for where to stay in Cape Town
  • Mid-range, luxury, or super-luxe options
  • Different areas that would be great to visit at a certain time
  • Family-friendly properties
  • Family-friendly activities
  • A combination of suggested properties, areas, and/or activities to see if you are on the right track

The Lookbooks are branded just like the Itineraries with your logo and contact details and can also be connected to your company domain as well for custom branded links as well. If you have a Custom Itinerary template set up, this will be applied to your Lookbooks when starting from your Custom Lookbook template.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Creating a Lookbook in Safari Portal

  1. From your Dashboard, click + Create New
  2. From the dropdown select Lookbook.
  3. Click New Lookbook.
  4. In the Internal File Information section, search for an existing File to nest the Lookbook within, or create a new File if you want the Lookbook to have its own dedicated File.
  5. Enter Internal Itinerary Notes to remind yourself what’s included in the Lookbook (e.g., "Options for Cape Town - Ellerman House, One&Only, MORE Quarters").
      • These notes will also appear in the email notification you receive when the proposal is viewed.
  6. In the About This Lookbook section:
      • Add a Lookbook Title (e.g., "Safari Ideas").
      • Optionally include the recipient’s name (e.g., "Maya West" or "The West Family") and travel dates. If left blank, these fields won’t appear on the cover page.
      • Note: All this information will appear on the Lookbook’s cover page.
  7. In the Information Pages from Content Library section:
      • Start typing the name of an existing Introductory Note (e.g., "Different Accommodation Types on Safari", "Family Safaris") and press Enter to add it.
      • To create a reusable Introductory Note, go to the Content Library, click Create New Content, and select Introductory Note from the dropdown.
  8. Under Lookbook Inclusions, type the name of the property, area, activity, or miscellaneous page you want to include, and press Enter when it appears.
      • Area Pages always appear at the top of search results.
  9. To reorder pages, click and drag the page name to the desired position.
  10. When including Property Pages, select the specific room descriptions to include.
      • Once a page is edited within the lookbook, you can no longer change the selected rooms.

By following these steps, you can efficiently create and customize a Lookbook tailored to your client’s needs.
