Help! Clicking the "back" button takes me to a different Travel Dashboard.
This happens when Safari Portal is open in more than one browser tab.

When you click the the back button/arrow in your browser, or "Back to Dashboard" from within an Itinerary, Lookbook, or Travel Dashboard, you may land on one of your own Travel Dashboards instead of the File you were working in. This can happen again and again while trying to work in the platform.

The good news: nothing is broken. This almost always means Safari Portal is open in a second browser tab. Follow these instructions to resolve this loop.

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. Look at your open browser tabs. Check whether you have Safari Portal open in more than one.
    1. If you have Safari Portal downloaded as a Chrome app, also check if Safari Portal is open there as well.
  2. Find the extra tab. Often, it's a Travel Dashboard you opened earlier.
  3. Close that tab, and every Safari Portal tab, except the one you are actively working in.
  4. Refresh the tab you kept open.
  5. Click the back button/arrow or Back to Dashboard" again to ensure you're not redirected to the Travel Dashboard.

Tips & Tricks ๐Ÿ’ฅ

  • Why this happens: when Safari Portal is open in two tabs at once, the app can lose track of where the back button should take you. As a result, it can default to what you have open in the other tab.
  • The most common cause of this is using the Safari Portal Chrome app and also having Safari Portal open in a regular browser tab at the same time.
  • Prevent this from happening by keeping Safari Portal in a single tab or window while you are working.
