Whether it’s a detailed Itinerary from a third party or a quote from a DMC, Magic Import intelligently extracts and organizes text by day and event type, creating a structured starting point for your Itinerary in Safari Portal.
Step-By-Step Instructions
1. Navigate to the Details tab in any Calendar Builder Itinerary
2. Click the Magic Import button
3. Once the Itinerary PDF has been imported, delete any events that are not needed.
- For example, if you import a line-by-line quote, it may include items like park fees or conservation fees as events.
4. Next, add relevant Content Pages by clicking in the Content Page name field and searching the Content Library.
- Keep in mind that you may need to adjust your search terms if the name imported via Magic Import doesn’t exactly match the Content Library page.
- If the page doesn’t exist yet, you can create a new one from here, or simply use the content as one-off placeholder content—meaning it will live only in this Itinerary and won’t be reusable from your library.
- If you choose to use it as one-off placeholder content, you will likely need to set a photo for that day on the Itinerary tab.
5. Review all details and timings pulled into the Event modals for accuracy and relevance.
- ⚠️ Important: Flight details listed on the imported PDF will appear in the Add Flight Manually tab. In order to receive flight notifications, you will need to add a new Flight event and search for the flight, then delete the manually added Flight event.
6. Update the Cost tab information.
7. Make sure to add or edit images directly from the Itinerary tab.
Tips & Tricks 💥
- Magic Import works best with a fully detailed, day-by-day Itinerary. PDFs that include only e-tickets or basic activity lists without key details—like dates—may not process as expected.
- If a year is not specified on the imported PDF, the events may be assigned to an incorrect or random year in the Details tab. To avoid this, always include the year on the PDF being imported.
