Introducing Your Clients to the Travel Portal App
The Travel Portal app gives your clients easy access to their itineraries, documents, forms, messages, and trip informationโall in one place, including offline access while traveling.
The best part? In most cases, there is nothing special your clients need to do.
๐ฑ Automatic App Syncing
Any time you share a:
- Travel Dashboard
- Itinerary
- Lookbook
- Guest Portal
using the Share via Email option, Safari Portal will automatically connect that content to your client's Travel Portal app account.
If Your Client Already Has the App Installed
As long as they are logged into the Travel Portal app using the same email address the content was shared to, it will automatically appear in their app.
No codes. No links. No additional steps.
If Your Client Downloads the App Later
No problem.
Simply share the content via Email as normal.
When your client later downloads the Travel Portal app and signs in using the same email address the content was shared to, everything you've already shared with them will automatically be waiting inside the app.
Again, no codes, setup steps, or manual linking required.
Recommended: Include App Instructions in Your Content
A ready-to-use page called Using the Travel Portal App is available in your Content Library.
We recommend adding this page to your Itineraries, Lookbooks, Guest Portals, or Travel Dashboards so clients can easily learn about the app and its offline capabilities.
This page focuses primarily on:
- Downloading the Travel Portal app
- Manually adding content to the app (if needed)
- Making content available offline
You can preview the page here.
When Do Travelers Need to Use "Add to App"?
In most cases, they don't.
If content was shared using the Share via Email option, it will automatically sync to the Travel Portal app.
However, travelers can still manually add content to their app if:
- Content was shared via a direct link instead of Email
- They want to manually add content that wasn't originally shared to their email address
- They need help accessing content that wasn't automatically synced
To do this:
- Open the Travel Dashboard, Itinerary, Lookbook, or Guest Portal on a mobile device.
- Click the blue phone icon.
- Follow the prompts to add the content to the Travel Portal app.
Offline Access
One of the biggest benefits of the Travel Portal app is offline access.
Once content has been loaded into the app, travelers can make it available offline so that trip information and documents remain accessible even when internet connectivity is limited or unavailable.
This is particularly useful while traveling internationally or in remote destinations.
Sample Message for Clients
"We've shared your travel information with you. For the best experience, download the Travel Portal app from the App Store or Google Play, then sign in using the same email address this was sent to. Your trip information will automatically be waiting for you there."
Do Clients Need the App?
No.
Everything shared through Safari Portal can also be accessed through a web browser on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device.
The Travel Portal app simply provides an even more convenient experience, including offline access, optional push notifications and messaging, and easy access to all trip information while on the go.
