A Lookbook is a visually engaging way to showcase your travel recommendations, bringing together hotels, experiences, maps, pricing, and more in one beautifully designed presentation.
With Superbuilder, you can create, organize, and customize your entire Lookbook from a single workspace, with changes saved automatically as you work.
This guide walks you through the process, from creating your Superbuilder Lookbook to publishing and sharing it with your clients.
Create a New Lookbook
- From your Files Dashboard, click Create New and select Lookbook.
- Choose Superbuilder to create a new Superbuilder Lookbook from scratch, or select Use a Template to start with an existing template. Click Create.
- Under File Information, search for an existing File to associate with your Lookbook, or create a new File directly from this screen. This information is for internal use only and will not be visible to your client.
- Add Internal Notes to help your team identify the Lookbook. For example, you might include the destinations, properties, or experiences you're recommending. These notes are searchable from your Files Dashboard, making it easier to find your Lookbook later.
- Under Cover Page, customize the information displayed on your Lookbook's cover. You'll see a live preview that updates as you type.
- Proposal Title: Enter the main title of your Lookbook.
- Prepared For: Enter the text you'd like displayed above the proposal title. This field is fully customizable. For example, you could enter Prepared for Jane & John, Curated for Jane & John, or any other introductory text. Be sure to include the words "Prepared for" if you'd like them to appear.
- Sub Headline: Enter the text you'd like displayed below the proposal title, such as proposed travel dates, a destination, or a short description of the trip.
- Under Add Content, search for and select pages from your Content Library to include in your Lookbook. This might include an Introductory Note, Area Pages, Property Pages, a "next steps" page, or more.
- Expand More Options to customize your branding and mobile app settings.
Interested in having your own custom-branded mobile app? Contact us at [email protected] to learn more. - White Label: If you're creating a proposal on behalf of a partner agent, select their White Label profile to display their logo instead of yours.
- Mobile App: If your company has a custom-branded mobile app, it will be selected automatically. You can switch to the default Travel Portal app when creating proposals for partner agents or other situations where you prefer not to use your branded app. If you don't have a custom mobile app, Travel Portal will be selected by default.
- Click Continue to proceed to the Superbuilder and start customizing your Lookbook.
Note: You can change any of this later. Click More Options, then Lookbook Details from within the builder.
Add And Organize Pages
Once you click Continue, you land in the Lookbook editor. This is one screen. You do not switch tabs to see your cover page, your map, or any other page. Click any page in the Table of Contents on the left to see it.
To add a page:
- Click Add Page. Or hover below any page in the Table of Contents until a blue line with a plus sign appears, then click it.
- Choose a page type:
- Content Page: pulls in a page already saved in your Content Library.
- Blank Page: starts an empty page you build yourself.
- Costs Page: adds a page for pricing. (You can have one Costs Page per Lookbook)
- Full-Width Image: adds one large photo that fills the page.
- If you choose Content Page, use Show Content to filter by All, My Content, Safari Portal Content, or Shared to find the right page faster.
To reorder pages:
- Hover over a page in the Table of Contents until a six-dot handle appears on the left.
- Drag the page to a new spot.
To hide a page from your client:
- Hover over the page and click the ... icon.
- Click Hide Page.
Note: Hide Page is not the same as deleting a page. It keeps the page in your editor. It only removes it from the version your client sees.
Build or Edit A Page
Whether you are starting with a Blank Page or editing a page that already exists, you work with smaller pieces called elements.
- Hover between any two elements on a page until a blue line with a plus sign appears.
- Click the plus sign to open the Element Library.
- Pick an element, such as Title, Text, Image, Video, PDF, Invoice, Forms, Accordion, or an embed like Google Maps or Calendly.
- Fill in the element with your content.
A Costs Page comes with its own built-in sections:
- Under Price, set the total per person or group, the number of guests, and whether the room is shared. Check Costs to be Determined if you do not have a price yet.
- Under Additional Text, add notes on what is included or excluded.
- Click Hide Section to hide the Price or Additional Text section. Click Show Section to bring it back.
- Click the arrow next to Save and choose Save as Template to reuse this cost setup later.
Note: You must check the box confirming you are responsible for the accuracy of your cost information before you can save a Costs Page.
Save And Publish Your Work
Safari Portal saves your work for you. There is no Save button. Every change you make to the Lookbook saves on its own as you type. This is called auto-save.
Saving and publishing are two different steps:
- Save (automatic): your changes are stored as you work. You will not lose your edits if you leave the page. These changes are not live yet.
- Publish (you click it): this makes your saved changes live. Once you publish, the changes show up everywhere that page is used, including your Itineraries, Lookbooks, and Travel Dashboards.
A few things to know:
- Customized sections won't automatically update. If you customize a section of a Content Library page within a specific Itinerary or Lookbook, that section becomes independent of the original. Any subsequent changes to that section in the Content Library will not overwrite your customizations. However, sections you haven't customized will continue to update automatically when changes to the original Content Library page are published.
- Publishing doesn't make your content publicly searchable. Publishing a page does not make it appear in Google or other search engine results. You'll still need to share the link directly or download and share a PDF.
- A dimmed Publish button means you're up to date. If the Publish button is grayed out, there are no unpublished changes. Everything is already up to date!
Note: Changes are saved automatically as you work, so multiple team members can edit the same page simultaneously. When someone else opens a page you're working on, they'll see your avatar (a circle with your initials) near the section you're editing.
Everyone's changes are saved independently, so team members can work together without overwriting each other's edits.
You can also see who made changes and when by opening the Audit Log from the More Options dropdown.
Keep Pages In Sync With Your Content Library
You can save any page from your Lookbook to your Content Library, making it easy to reuse your content in future Lookbooks or Itineraries without starting from scratch.
You can also update existing Content Library pages directly from your Lookbook.
Save or Update a Page
- In the Table of Contents, hover over the page you want to save or update.
- Click the three-dot (...) menu next to the page.
- Choose from the following options:
- Save as New Page: Creates a new page in your Content Library, preserving the original page and any content it contains. If the page isn't already linked to your Content Library, you'll be prompted to select a Page Type(such as Property, Area, Activity, Miscellaneous, About Us, Introductory Notes, or Pre-Travel Information) to organize it in the appropriate library category.
- Overwrite: Updates the original Content Library page with the changes you've made in your Lookbook. This option is only available for your own Content Library pages, not Safari Portal-provided content.
- Remove: Removes the page from your current Lookbook.
Note: Removing a page from your Lookbook does not delete it from your Content Library. Any version saved in your library will remain available for future use.
Apply A Theme
A Theme sets the fonts, colors, and overall look of your Lookbook.
- Click More Options, then click Theme.
- Under My Themes, pick a saved theme or create a new one (see below).
- Click Apply Theme.
- From the three dots you can also set that theme to be your default theme for all newly created Lookbooks.
To build your own theme:
- Click Create Theme.
- Click through the tabs: Fonts, Colors, Button, Layout, and Settings.
- On the Fonts tab, pick a font pairing and choose a size for your Headlines and Body text.
- Click Save Changes.
More Lookbook Options
Click More Options at the top of any Lookbook to find a few more tools:
- Lookbook Details: edit your File Information and Cover Page fields at any time.
- Filter Content Pages: filter your Content Library by All, My Content, Safari Portal Content, or Shared, or search by keyword.
- Translate: choose to translate only your dates, labels, and buttons, or translate everything, including all of your content.
- Audit Logs: see every change made to this Lookbook, who made it, and when, including anything still unpublished.
