📌 This content applies to Custom Templates, an additional paid feature of Safari Portal.
A Custom Template is a specially designed Itinerary or Lookbook template that incorporates your brand’s unique fonts, colors, and style for a fully personalized and professional appearance.
If you don't have a Custom Template but are interested in getting one, reach out! Please contact our team at [email protected].
There is a one-time set-up fee which will include a suite of digital templates for Classic and Calendar Itineraries, Lookbooks, and Guest Portals.

How do I use a Custom Template?
Once the Safari Portal team has created and set up your Custom Template, you can start using it right away. From your Dashboard, click Create New, select New From Template, and choose your custom-branded template from the dropdown menu. Follow the interactive tutorial below for step-by-step guidance.
Where are my Custom Templates?
You can find and modify your Custom Template, like any other Itinerary template or Lookbook template in the Content Library. We recommend adding pages you find yourself inserting over and over again to your template, like About Us pages or Terms & Conditions.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- Navigate to your Content Library.
- Select the Templates tab.
- Expand the Itinerary or Lookbook template section.
- Click Edit to make changes to the template.
- To duplicate or delete a template, click the three-dot menu on the right.

What can Custom Templates do?
Custom Templates can do so much, but they do have some limitations.
✅ Custom Templates Can...
- Be customized by you in the Content Library. Do you want every Itinerary to have an About Us page or your terms and conditions? You can add pages to your Custom Template in your Content Library, just like any Itinerary Template in Safari Portal.
- Format anything in the Content Library to match your branding. This is part of the magic of Custom Templates! Any content you pull into an Itinerary, Lookbook, or Guest Portal that uses your Custom Template will automatically be transformed to match your branding.
✖️ Custom Templates Can't...
- Work backwards. You can't apply a Custom Template to an already existing Itinerary, Lookbook, or Guest Portal. If you want an old proposal to have your new branding, you must rebuild it in this new template. (Here's a trick to apply your custom styles to an already existing itinerary without having to rebuild it from scratch.)
- Transfer to PDF or Word exports. If you export a proposal to a PDF or Word document, your branding will not be applied to the export. The export will have Safari Portal default formatting.
- It is possible to customize the Word export via a third party; if you are interested in this, let us know and we will connect you. Costs to be discussed directly with the third party.

- Be applied to offline versions within the Travel Portal app.
- Affect pages in your Content Library; these pages must be pulled into a custom Itinerary or Lookbook template in order to take on your custom styles.
