In general, the best way to get started creating a Custom Template is for us to use your website or a brand book as a starting point. Our Creative team then works to match the Safari Portal template as closely as possible to your website or brand guidelines.

What’s Possible: Customization Options
We offer extensive customization options to ensure your Itineraries, Lookbooks, and Guest Portals perfectly reflect your brand. Here's what can be tailored to your specifications:
Fonts
- We can use your exact brand fonts throughout—not just similar ones, but the precise fonts you use.
- If you use custom fonts, simply share the font files with us, and we’ll incorporate them.
Background Colors
- Background colors can be customized for different sections based on the page type.
- For example, the cover page can have a navy background, the costs page a beige background, and all the day pages a black background.
Background Images
- We can include custom background images, enhancing the visual appeal of your materials.
Page Layout
- Pages can be designed as full-width or split-screen, offering flexibility in layout:
- Full-width pages: The primary image, typically positioned on the left, will stack above the content usually placed on the right.
- Split-screen pages: The split ratio can be the standard 50/50 or adjusted in different splits, like 60/40 or any other configuration that suits your needs.
Navigation
- We can show the navigation along the top, either full width or half width, or collapsed within the hamburger menu's Table of Contents.

Custom Iconography
- Custom iconography can be incorporated in both Calendar and Classic Itineraries and Lookbooks.
- Note for Calendar builder we require SVG files for the icons you would like to use
Additional Customization Options
- Rounded corners can be applied to images and fast fact boxes (Calendar builder)
- Split-screen layouts can be further tailored with different proportions, such as 60/40 or 70/30.

📌 Note: Calendar Builder Itineraries provide more customization options compared to Classic builder Itineraries and Lookbooks. Additionally, each proposal type features somewhat distinct layouts and utilizes icons differently.
What's Not Possible
Custom Itinerary Templates apply to digital proposals only (Itineraries, Lookbooks, and Guest Portals).
Individual pages within the Content Library are created with Safari Portal standard styles that then take on the custom styles once used within a proposal with your custom styles attached.
Custom Itinerary Templates do not affect PDF or Word versions of any proposal, although, it is possible to customize some aspects of the Word export, including fonts and colors, via a third-party solution. Please email us if you are interested in being connected to explore this.
Lastly, the custom styles are visible when viewing proposals within the app, but they will not appear in the offline version. If travelers are accessing the app without an internet connection, they’ll see the standard Itinerary instead of the custom template.
To make changes to the app itself, like styles, colors, fonts on the Dashboard and buttons of the app itself, customization is available via your own custom app. This allows you to have a custom app with your own company name, logo, and styles.
