The Contacts module provides a place to manage all of your contact profiles for Travelers, as well as Suppliers and Partner Agents. Read on to learn more about adding Travelers to your Contacts module, or check out our video tutorial on the Safari Portal Academy.
Adding Automatically via Guest Portals or Custom Forms
📌Note: Guest portals are available on Tier II subscriptions and above.
Any client who has at any point completed a Guest Form within Safari Portal's Guest Portal - or any Custom Form from your Forms module - will automatically appear in your Contacts tab. No action is needed on your part. This will include their contact info, travel history, and connections to other travelers. It also includes details they've added in any past form, like passport info and dietary, preferences (as long as those were inputted in synced fields or via a Guest Form in a Guest Portal).
For those not yet using Guest Portals or Custom Forms, now is a good time to start! (It also makes it very easy to share guest information with your DMCs via the Send Guest Info functionality.)
Adding Individual Contacts
Sometimes you want to add one-off contacts; here's how!
- Navigate to your Contacts module from your sidebar
- Click the pink + Create New button at the top.
- Select the contact type (e.g., Traveler, Supplier, or Partner Agent).
- In the pop-up window, fill out as much of the new contact's info as you'd like. Only their first name, last name, and email are required.
- Click Create. You'll be taken to that contact's individual profile. There, you can add passport information, upload documents, and more.
- Only First Name, Last Name, and Email are required.

Adding from a Spreadsheet or CRM
If you have client information already stored in a third-party CRM or spreadsheet, you can easily import your contacts into your Contacts tab.
- Navigate to your Contacts module from your sidebar
- Click More Options, then Import Contacts.
- Select the type of contact you want to import (e.g., Travelers, Suppliers, or Partner Agents).
- Select or drag your contacts file to upload it into Safari Portal. If you use a CRM, export your contacts into a .csv format first, then upload to Safari Portal.
⚠️ Important: You must save your file in a .csv format to import it. Your file also must have column headers; they must include "First Name," "Last Name," and "Email Address."
- Use the dropdowns on the right to match the .csv column names on the left to the corresponding properties on Safari Portal. You can also search for the names of different Safari Portal properties. Click Continue in the bottom-right when you're done.
📌 Note: You won't be allowed to proceed until you've matched the First Name, Last Name, and Email Address columns.
- If you would like your contacts to be overwritten, for example, when updating contact information, check the checkbox. Otherwise, click Confirm, then Got it on the next page.

Safari Portal will begin uploading your contacts to your account. You will receive a notification via the email associated with your account once the import is complete.
