What are tags and how do I add them to Contacts?

What Are Tags

  • Tags are labels you can assign to your contacts.
  • They help categorize and organize clients based on specific attributes, preferences, or statuses, making it easier to filter and locate specific groups.
  • Tags are displayed in the Contacts section, to the right of each contact.
  • You can add as many tags as you'd like to a contact.
    • Hover over the number to see all tags assigned to that contact.
    • Tags applied at the File level do not affect tags at the contact level.


How to Add Tags to a Contact

📌 Note: the Contact must already exist before you can add tags to it.


  1. From the Contacts section, click Profile next to the contact.
  2. In the top left of the contact's profile page, click Edit Tags.
  3. If the tag you want already exists, select it from the dropdown.
    1. To create a new tag, type its name, then click +Create.
  4. Click Save when you're finished.
