Safari Portal offers several flexible options for creating proposals in different languages. Whether you prefer using the built-in language translation widget for a quick solution or want full control over the language and phrasing with manual translations, the platform supports a variety of approaches to suit your workflow and communication style.
Option 1: The Quick and Dirty Way
The fastest way to create a proposal in another language is by using the language translation widget (an add-on feature). Simply build your proposal in English as usual, then share the link with your client. They can choose their preferred language using the gray translation widget on the left side of the proposal.

Pro's:
- Doesn't require any content creation or even knowledge of the other language.
- It uses DeepL, a best-in-class translation tool.
Con's:
- Machine translation will never be 100% accurate to the same degree as if it were manually translated by a native speaker.
- Doesn't pull through into the PDF or Word export (there is a work around for this - you can export it to PDF and then upload it to DeepL to translate the whole PDF).
Option 2: The Still Quick and Slightly Less Dirty Way
If you have working or expert knowledge of another language, you can write everything in the Details tab—including the title, costs, and more—in that language, while still pulling content from the Content Library written in English.
Share the proposal and have your clients use the language translation widget to translate the rest of the Itinerary. This ensures that the overview, costs, and any other content you write in the other language (e.g., terms and conditions, introductory note) will be perfectly translated, while still maintaining the speed of not having to manually translate the other pages.
Pro Tips
👉 We suggest translating all the content that you can within a blank Itinerary - for example, Travel Brief, Map, Costs. Then save that as an Itinerary Template you can start from each time you want to create an Itinerary in that language.
👉 You should also use the Itinerary Settings from the Lookbook or Itinerary tab to automatically translate all Safari Portal default text before sharing. This will translate things like the navigation, buttons, and dates - things that you otherwise would not be able to manually edit.

Select the language you'd like to translate the default texts to from the dropdown.

You can also make this your default language if you always create Itineraries or Lookbooks in this language.

Option 3: The Ideal Way
If you are only dealing with travelers who speak a language other than English, and you are fluent in that language, it might make sense to have all the content in your Content Library in that language already.
You can easily duplicate existing content in your Safari Portal Content Library by clicking the three dots next to the page name and selecting Duplicate. Then, add a tag (e.g., "Spanish") to help organize your content.

Next, translate the content. You can either copy and paste the text into a translation service like DeepL, or if you have the language translation add-on, you can share the page (again using the three dots), then use the translation widget to translate the entire page into your desired language. Copy the translated text back into the duplicated page, tweak it as needed, and save it to your Content Library. Voila! You now have reusable content in that language.
We recommend creating these pages as needed so you always have the right translations on hand. Once your translated content is ready, you can start from your template (as described above), apply the Itinerary Settings to translate all system default text, and add your own translated content. This ensures that everything you share is fully in your preferred language.
Pro's:
- Have perfectly translated pages.
- Translated content pulls into the PDF and Word versions of the proposals.
Con's:
- It takes a bit longer to set up initially (since you'll need to create the Content Pages in your Content Library), but once the content is in place, it will be quick and easy to use moving forward. This setup is a one-time task that streamlines the process for all future proposals.
