What is a chat owner?
The chat owner is the primary team member responsible for managing traveler communications within a chat.
Every chat in Safari Portal has a designated chat owner.
The chat owner:
- Receives notifications for new messages;
- Receives email notifications for chat activity;
- Can receive private messages from travelers (if enabled);
- Acts as the primary point of contact for that chat.
By default, the person who creates the chat becomes the chat owner.
However, businesses that use a dedicated concierge or support model can assign another team member to act as the chat owner for all chats.
This allows traveler communications to be centralized while still enabling multiple team members to collaborate behind the scenes.
