Safari Portal is an extremely flexible tool. Follow the steps below to learn how to present an itinerary with an individual page for each day, and/or watch this extremely helpful video tutorial:
* The video is 12 minutes long and highly recommended.
Step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: From the Itineraries dashboard click Create New Itinerary, click New From Sample, and then search for "day by day" from the dropdown:
Step 2: On the General Info tab, select the File Name you would like to put this itinerary in, or create a new one
Step 3: Still on the General Info tab, add your Internal Notes, update your Proposal Title and optionally the Prepared For field and Proposed Travel dates. Pull in any additional Information Pages like your Terms and Conditions, About Us, or Introductory Note pages.
Step 4: Click Next at the bottom of the General Info tab to continue to the Details tab. If you have firm dates you can click Organize by Date and Update the Start Date for the trip.
Step 5: Add or remove days using the + button at the bottom of the table or the 3 dots from the right side of the table (Delete or Duplicate); add new blank pages to your itinerary by @mentioning the page @DailyProgramBLANK
Step 6: Click Next at the bottom of the Details tab to continue to the Costs tab. Show or hide the various sections here and enter your pricing information (or leave blank and hide from the itinerary later); or Start from a Costs Template:
Step 7: Click Next at the bottom of the Costs tab to continue to the Itinerary tab and select a Cover page image by clicking Replace above the image and searching for or uploading a photo. Optionally update the quote section.
Step 8: Click on the first Daily Program page from the Table of Contents to add events for the first day, then:
8a: Select a primary photo for this day by clicking Replace image over the gray placeholder image
8b: Update the main headline for the day - you can use Day 1 if you like here or something else
8c: Update the headline on the left side with the main event for the day (this will display that title in the Menu rather than Daily Program; "Daily Program" can also work fine though)
Step 9: Now, let's use Blocks to add the events for this day! Hover below the word Overview to see the blue line with the blue plus and click the blue plus to launch the Element Library. Now select the Blocks element.
* Note: Click here to learn more about how Blocks work (essentially this is any page that you have already created in your Content Library that you now would like to pull in as a section within this page)
Step 10: Search the Content Library for the Blocks you want to pull in here. For this itinerary we pulled in the following blocks:
- Flight BLOCK
- Meet And Greet At Airport, Transfer To Hotel BLOCK
- Check In BLOCK Bed And Breakfast Accommodation Hotel
- Cape Grace
You could also pull in a block with fast fact icon for example for Welcome to PLACE NAME and then a block for the destination information.
*A Note About Blocks: Safari Portal has created some sample blocks like a Flight block and a Transfer block; you can create any blocks you want in your Content Library by clicking Create New Content and selecting the type of content you want to create. Anything that lives in your Content Library can be pulled into any other page or itinerary or lookbook or guest portal as a block. We like using Miscellaneous pages and fast fact icons to set off important events that you might at some stage want to add times to, but you can create and utilize this feature however works best for you.
Have fun creating beautiful content! 🌟
