Property Pages are the lifeblood of Safari Portal. Thousands are pre-loaded on the platform. You can duplicate one of those and make edits or start from scratch. But how exactly do you do that? This article shows you how.

Introduction
What is a Property Page?
A Property Page is a customizable page that details important information about a specific property in written and image form. It usually includes these sections:
- Property Overview: A summary combined with a highlight reel of the property's best parts.
- Experience & Activities: A description of activities available at the property.
- Accommodations: Includes all the types of rooming options available at that property.
- Fast Facts: A short summary of the best, more unique parts of the property, and a list of amenities.
All sections, excluding Fast Facts, make heavy use of photos. Once a Property Page is created, it can be used across multiple proposals, lookbooks, and itineraries. See below for recommendations from the Safari Portal team on what content to put in a Property Page.
How to Make a Property Page
Creating a new page / Duplicating a page
Navigate to your Content Library.
To start from scratch, click the Create New button at the top right. In the pop-up that appears, select Property as your page type. Then click Next.
To duplicate another page to use as a base, search for your page, then click the three dots to the right of its name. Select "Duplicate." Follow the guidelines for linking to master Property Pages, then click Next.
Property Name
Type the name of the property.
📌 Note: If you're creating different versions of the same property – for example, for different seasons, like a ski lodge offerings in winter vs. summer – don't add words to differentiate each property here. Use the Tags section, explained below.
Link to Master Property Page
This field is required. It relates to analytics and will enable you to run Bednight Reports later.
If you're duplicating a pre-existing content page, link to the original Property Page in this field.
If you're adding a property that's not yet on Safari Portal, simply type in the name of the property and click +Create in the dropdown or press Enter.
Tags
Tags let you differentiate between multiple pages about the same property. All tags you add are searchable in the Content Library. Detailed examples of tags you can include are detailed in Tips and Tricks below. Some common tags include language, season, audience, or year.
If you're only creating one version of your Property Page, you can leave this field blank.

Portfolio
If the property belongs to an umbrella collection (e.g., the Four Seasons or Marriott), you can select it here. You can also add a new portfolio using the dropdown.
Otherwise, you can leave this field blank.

Country
In the Country field, type the country where this property is located and select from the dropdown.

Area
Safari Portal creates Area Pages for popular cities or regions in different countries. You must link a property you add to Safari Portal to an area, whether one that already exists or one you create.
In the Area field, try searching for the city or region where your property is located. If an Area Page already exists in your Content Library, you'll see an eye icon next to the name.
If the Area Page doesn't exist, type the full name of the city or region, then click +Create from the dropdown to make your own. In the pop-up that appears, you'll be asked if you want to create an Area Page. If you want to create a separate, standalone Area Page that you'll fill out later with information about the city or region, click Yes. Otherwise, click No.
Emergency Contacts and Office Contacts
Optional fields that you can skip.
If you add emergency contact information, it will automatically be pulled into any Guest Portals you create that utilize this page.
Google Maps
Type the name of the property in the Location field. This will usually place the location pin in the correct place on the map below.
If the location isn't appearing or incorrectly placed, try the following:
- Adding the name of the area or country (e.g., "Four Seasons Toronto Canada").
- Pasting the full address of the property in the Location field.
- Finding the property's GPS coordinates with Google Maps, then pasting them in the GPS Coordinates field.
Rooms Tab
This is where to add different room categories that are available on the property.
See our recommendations on what content to include in this section.
You can add only room categories that are relevant to you, and you can also skip this section altogether by clicking the Next button.
To add or update photos or copy for a room, return to this Rooms tab. You can do so by navigating through the tabs at the top of the screen or clicking where you want to make your edits; you'll be brought to the Rooms tab.
Page Tab
Yay! We made it to the fun part! Now that we are on the inline editor, we can start creating what the page will look like.
Change the Primary Photo: Click the Replace Photo button in the top-right of the image. Follow our recommendations below and select a Primary Photo. Then, upload or paste the photo in.
Add content: Click into the sample text block and add your text or launch Safari Portal AI. Add photos to the placeholder photo block, or add your own. Add other content like PDFs, Videos, and Fast Facts blocks using the Element Library that appears after clicking the blue plus.
Content Recommendations
What should you put in a Property Page? Here are some of our recommendations.
Guidelines for the whole page
Here are some general guidelines when creating a Property Page:
- You do not need to use all four of the suggested sections of the Property page base template. For example, you can simply delete the Experiences & Activities section or the Fast Facts section if not relevant, or if you just want to create a quick page. Just make sure to delete the heading for the section you don't want to use.
-
Use Safari Portal's powerful AI to generate information on the property you're making the page about. It's great to build out a page quickly or give you a starting point to build off of.
- Safari Portal's itineraries work best with the inclusion of photos. Make sure to include key photos of the property! You can copy and paste photos into Safari Portal - no need to save images to your desktop and upload them.
- Make sure the pictures of the property you use are high-quality and follow our recommended size guidelines. High-resolution photos exude professionalism and will elevate your pages.
-
When selecting a Primary Photo...
- Choose the “best” picture of the property that conveys the sense of place. Generally, this image will be an exterior photo, although it doesn’t have to be.
- This photo needs to be extremely high resolution, as it will be heavily featured and enlarged. See our photo guidelines.
- Check the property’s website. Usually, the “hero” shot you first see on the homepage is a good option for a primary photo.
Guidelines for specific sections
Here are some guidelines on specific sections of Property Pages. Remember, you don't have to use these sections; they're just here to give you a starting point!
For the Property Overview section...
-
The purpose of this section is to give a summary of what the property offers and a highlight reel of its best parts. It usually includes:
- Where the property is (what country at least and ideally what neighborhood as well as what makes that neighborhood distinct).
- Physical features of the property (e.g., next to the beach, in a jungle, etc.).
- Most important or unique group amenities and services (e.g., its restaurant, specialty bar, plunge pools, etc.).
- Brief mention of what its rooms are like.
- Brief mention of awards or distinctions.
- This is the very first thing guests are going to read; it might be the only thing they read about the entire property. If you’re pressed for time, this is the section to spend the most time on refining and editing.
- We recommend sticking to two paragraphs at most. Keep to around 60 words (about seven lines) per paragraph. Sandwich the photo slideshow between paragraphs if there is more than one.
- This section is where using Safari Portal's AI would be most impactful!
For the Experience & Activities section...
- Keep it general! You can create much, much more in-depth pages about specific activities by making an Activity Page. The role of this section is a top-down view of all the activities available to guests.
- Keep it to activities on or provided by the property.
- Ideally, stick to two paragraphs at most. Keep to around 60 words (about seven lines) per paragraph. Sandwich the photo slideshow between paragraphs if there is more than one.
- Remember to indicate if an activity is at an additional cost.
For the Fast Facts section...
- For the Highlights section, give guests a summary of the best, most unique parts of a property. What makes it unique? What makes this property different than all the others?
- For the Quick Facts section, list amenities available to guests in quick succession.
For the Rooms tab...
- Add all of the categories of rooms available on the property or simply the ones you tend to book, whatever your preference.
- We recommend selecting impactful photos or videos that best represent the room and show its various parts (e.g., one of the desk, one or two of the bed, one of the sitting area, one of the minibar, etc.).
Tips and Tricks
- You can share individual Property Pages without adding them to an itinerary!
- Navigate to your Content Library and go to the property you want to share.
- Click the three dots to the right of the property name.
- Click Share. A shareable link to the Property Page will be automatically copied to your clipboard!
-
Tags are extremely powerful in Safari Portal, especially if you make multiple versions of the same property page. Here are some ways you can tag your content:
- Different languages. For example, an English version and a Spanish version. In this case, you would use the tags "English" and "Spanish" for the respective pages.
- Different seasons. For example, creating a "summer" and "winter" version of a page for a mountain hotel.
- Different audiences. For example, one version of a Property Page that is geared toward honeymooners, and another version that is for families.
-
Tracking the year created or adding another way to search. If you find yourself searching keywords like "hike," "explore," or "foodie," or searching by year, adding these kinds of tags can help you sort through your content in the long run.
- If you search for an area and it's not in your Content Library, it's worth making a standalone area page if you're planning on creating multiple versions of your Property Page, or you're going to have lots of itineraries in that city or region.
Have fun creating beautiful Property Pages! 💕
