Lookbooks are an incredibly powerful tool in Safari Portal because they allow you to create a teaser of options or ideas for a potential trip very quickly.
This means that you can engage a potential client right away, and keep them within your ecosystem rather than off googling on the internet somewhere and possibly ending up shopping other operators.
Here are some different ways of using lookbooks:
- Options for where to stay in Cape Town
- Mid-range, Luxury, or Super-Luxe options
- Different areas that would be great to visit at a certain time
- Family friendly properties
- Family friendly activities
- A combination of suggested properties, areas, and/or activities to see if you are on the right track
The lookbooks are branded just like the itineraries with your logo and contact details, and can also be connected to your company domain as well.
To create a lookbook, follow these simple steps:
- From the Itineraries dashboard, click Create New Itinerary and then click New Lookbook.
- In the Internal File Information Section, search for an existing Internal File Name to nest this proposal within an already existing file, or create a new one if you want to create a new file for this Lookbook to live in on your Itineraries dashboard.
- Enter some Internal Itinerary Notes to remind yourself what is included in the lookbook and help you find it easily later (e.g., Options for Cape Town - Ellerman House, One&Only, MORE Quarters). Note: these notes are also displayed in the notification email you receive when the proposal is being viewed. It is sometimes helpful to include the names of the client you will be sharing the proposal with in these internal notes too.
- In the About this Lookbook section, create a Lookbook Title - e.g., Safari Ideas, and you can opt to display who the lookbook is prepare for (e.g. Maya West or The West Family) and the Travel Dates, or you could leave those fields blank and nothing will be displayed there. Note this information appears on the cover page of the lookbook.
- In the Information Pages from Content Library section, if you want to include a covering "Introductory Note" section (ie, an Introductory page), click into the field and if you had already created a note that you want to pull in simply start typing the name of the page and then press enter once you see it. This is an efficient way to re-use your work - for example if you had created an Introductory Note page in your Content Library for "Different Accommodation Types on Safari" or "Family Safaris" or "Where to Stay in Cape Town" or "What to do in Cape Town" - you could pull that page in here. If you want to create a standalone page that you would not ever need to reuse, click Create Custom Page. (If you want to create a reusable page, go back to the Content Library and click Create New Content and then select Introductory Note from the dropdown.)
- Where it says Lookbook Inclusions simply start typing the name of the property, area, activity, or miscellaneous page you want to include in the proposal and press Enter once you see it. Pro tip: Area pages always appear at the bottom of the search results.
- To rearrange the order of the pages in the proposal simply click on the name of the page and drag it on top of the page you want it to appear before.
