Creating a temporary one-off task is the fastest way to edit an email template. A few clicks is all it takes.🦾
📌Note: This will not automatically update tasks using the email template. After you're finished, you will have to update pre-existing tasks manually.
- Click Create New 🡢 Create One Off Task.
- Under Name, enter a placeholder name.
- Under File, select a file to temporarily assign the task.
Remember, this won't affect the file, and you'll delete this task when you're done editing the template. - Under Assigned to, assign the task to yourself.
- Click Task Type 🡢 Email.
- Click Or, Manually Select Due Date 🡢 Pick today's date as the task's due date (in red).
- Click Select Template.
- From the Select Template dropdown, choose the template you want to update.
You can tell you're editing the template if the Save as Template toggle is on and the Select Template dropdown is updated to the template's name. - Make your desired edits to the subject line or email body.
⚠️Don't edit the email template's name.
- Click Create to save your changes to the template and generate the temporary task. You've successfully updated the email template!
- To delete the temporary task, go to the Due Today tab on your Task Manager dashboard. Click the trash bin icon next to the task to delete.
Boom, you're done! 💥
