Step by Step Guidance
Creating an itinerary in Safari Portal is very easy. Here's how:
1. First, click the Create New Itinerary button on the Itineraries dashboard, and then click New Itinerary.
General Info tab
Now, select an existing file for this proposal to be nested within, or click Create File Name to create a new file. Â
📌 Note if you are creating a new file you will need to type in the name of a new file and then press Enter.
Next, you can add some Internal File Notes. These will help you remember what is in the itinerary from your Itineraries dashboard later. We suggest adding in the names of the properties or areas you are including here so you can search for this itinerary later and find it easily if needed.
In the About this Proposal section you can create a short & snappy Title for your proposal, and optionally add the guests names in Prepared For, and add optional Proposed Travel Dates.
*This information is all client-facing and will appear on the Cover Page of the proposal you are creating.
In the Information Pages from Content Library section, you can pull in any complementary content pages that you had already created in your Content Library. For example, you might want to include a custom Introductory Note page at the beginning of the itinerary, an About Us page in the middle of the itinerary, and a Terms & Conditions page at the end of the itinerary.
White Labeling is only relevant if you would like to apply the logo and contacts for another agency, ie, if this proposal is B2B. You can read more about white labeling here.

Details tab
Select the Calendar Builder.Â
You can Organize by Date if you have firm dates or you are provisionally holding space, or Organize by Day if you just want to do a 'Day 1, Day 2, Day 3' generic itinerary.
Add an event to get started by clicking Add Event in the top left or directly from the calendar by clicking the plus icon.
We'll start by adding a flight to the itinerary. If you are on a Tier II plan, you can search for a flight by Flight Number or Route on a particular day; otherwise you can always Add a Flight Manually.
Under Add Notes, you can add anything from seat or confirmation numbers, flight duration or any other applicable information.
Within the Add Information From Content Library section, you can pull in any content page that already lives within your Content Library, such as baggage information for a particular airline for example. Once you're satisfied, click Add To Itinerary.
Next, we'll add an Accommodation event. Search for the hotel or lodge name from the Content Library. If the property you want to add does not already exist in the Content Library you can click Create New at the bottom of the drop-down, or you can create your own in your Content Library. Next, select your dates of stay, and optionally add check-in and check-out times, room type(s), and basis of stay as well as any other additional notes that your clients might need.
You can also opt to not Collapse this information within More Details. This will show the full content within the itinerary rather than requiring your guest to expand a toggle to read more. Read here to find out more!
Continue building up your clients itinerary and adding all of the necessary events.Â
Once you have added all the details to your Details tab, click Next to continue.
Have fun creating beautiful itineraries! 💞
